The Holdem Anti Backing Ratchets help move the animal up into the bail.
You can also use them for holding the animal up so you can safely get in behind it for calving or AB.
Our ratchets are 1.2 metres long and have extra long upright mounting straps, so that they can fit in any gap in your rails from 125 mm--225 mm (5"-9").
They have teeth on each side that only allow the bar to move forward, this means that one person can stand on one side of the race and slide the bar through behind the animal and ratchet the animal forward into the bail.
You use a rowing motion pushing forward and then pulling back on the bar, this gives you a lot of leverage on the animal and saves you having to physically manhandle the animal into the bail.
